A World of Warcraft guild. A completely normal communication environment.
Attention guild citizens: due to a reckless outbreak of independent thought, all opinions must now be submitted to the Factually Accurate Guaranteed Subcommittee (F.A.G.S.) for correction. The official guild position is that censorship is not censorship when leadership does it, double standards are simply “context,” and misinformation means any statement that makes the wrong people uncomfortable.
The majority is kindly instructed to shut up gracefully so the minority can continue roleplaying as the voice of the guild. Please send all honest thoughts to whispers, private servers, or the growing pile of morale we keep pretending does not exist.
Obey loudly. Question privately. Raid normally.
Unauthorized observations, inconvenient memories, and majority opinions expressed too clearly may be classified as misinformation.
The same behavior may be good or bad depending on who did it, who noticed it, and whether leadership currently finds it useful.
We can be competitive without being honest. Mistakes happen. Pattern recognition is discouraged.
Concerns are always welcome, provided they are phrased gently, submitted privately, and never require anyone important to change.
Friends. Raiders. Citizens. Not just members. Not just voices. Not just people with the wrong amount of context.
